Introduction

This website is operated by DTC Guys LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”), the company behind Veto and The Ugly Toenail Book. By visiting this site or making a purchase, you are consenting to this privacy policy.

Overview

We collect only the information we need to run this site, deliver what you buy, and improve how we communicate. We do not sell your personal information. We never see or store your full payment card details; payments are processed by our payment processor (Stripe), which handles your card data under its own security standards and privacy policy.

What we collect

• Contact details you provide at checkout or when you contact us: your name, email address, and, when you order anything physical, the delivery address and phone number you give us.

• Transactional data: what you bought, when, and the amount, so we can deliver your order, honor the guarantee, and keep the business records we are required to keep.

• Usage data: standard analytics information such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use it

• To deliver your order, whether that is a digital download or something we ship to you.

• To send order confirmations, receipts, delivery updates, and support replies.

• To send emails about your purchase and, if you have opted in, occasional emails about related products. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing is honored immediately.

• To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

Cookies and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies for site functionality and analytics. We also use advertising platforms (such as Meta) that may use cookies and pixels to measure ad performance and show relevant ads. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can manage ad preferences directly with those platforms.

Meta (Facebook and Instagram) has a small piece of code, called a pixel, on this site, on our store (shop.ohveto.com) and on our order pages (go.ohveto.com). It tells Meta which of our pages you visit, when you add something to your bag or start checking out, whether you came from one of our ads, your device and browser, and when a purchase is made. When you place an order, our checkout also sends Meta a record of that purchase directly from our server (Meta calls this the Conversions API). We use the pixel and those purchase records so our ads reach people like you and so we can tell which ads lead to sales. You can read Meta’s privacy policy at facebook.com/privacy/policy.

Google Analytics runs on this site, on our store (shop.ohveto.com) and on our order pages (go.ohveto.com). It counts visits and records which pages you view, which website, search or link brought you here, your device and browser, and your approximate location (city or country, worked out from your internet address). We use those numbers to see which pages and ads are working. It never sees card details. You can read Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy, and Google offers a browser add-on that turns Google Analytics off on every website you visit at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Microsoft Clarity runs on our order pages (go.ohveto.com). It records how visitors scroll and click, along with the device and browser they use, and turns that into heatmaps and session replays, so we can see which parts of a page are confusing. It doesn’t record what you type into forms, and it never sees card details. You can read Microsoft’s privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.

Sharing

We share information only with the service providers that make this business work: payment processing, email delivery, order fulfillment and shipping, printing, analytics, and advertising measurement. Each provider receives only what it needs to do its job. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Security

We use reputable providers and industry-standard safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect what you share with us.

Children

This site and our products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, and residents of the European Economic Area have additional rights under the GDPR, including access, portability, and erasure. To exercise any of these, email us at the address below and we will respond within the timeframe required by law.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date. Material changes will be flagged clearly.

Text messaging (SMS)

There are two SMS boxes at checkout and they are separate. If you tick either one, we collect your phone number and a record of which consent you gave. The first covers order and shipping updates and the 90-Day Program reminders. The second, which is optional, covers occasional Veto offers and product news. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Opt out any time by replying STOP to any message; reply HELP or email support@ohveto.com for help. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the text message services.
